Supervision as a method of practical training of pedagogical university students
Abstract
The article reveals the problem of using the supervision in the practical training of students of a pedagogical university. The authors of the article consider supervision as a method of accompanying pedagogical university students in their practical preparation for the pedagogical practice in the aspect of studying and analyzing specific cases of educational activity of a class teacher. Supervision in the practical training of the future class teacher performs a number of important functions (teaching, supporting, consulting, expert) that increase the level of students’ readiness to implement the class teacher educational activities. The thematic session “Classroom management” developed by the authors of the article for the students’ practical preparation for pedagogical practice contains theoretical and practical blocks. The content of the thematic session theoretical block is aimed at mastering the basics of the class teacher professional activity, knowledge about effective forms, methods and techniques of the class teacher educational activity, the specifics of developing scenarios of educational activities for students of different ages and criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the results of the class teacher educational activity. The practical block of the thematic session implies the work of students of a pedagogical university in small groups to study and analyze specific cases from the educational practice of the class teacher.
