Teaching English-language grammar to children with speech impairments using information technologies
Abstract
The article investigates the effectiveness of information technology (IT) in teaching English grammar to primary school children with general speech underdevelopment (GSU) level III. The study examines the challenges these children face in mastering English grammar, including difficulties with agreement, article usage, and sentence construction. The authors propose a methodology that combines traditional and innovative approaches, such as gamification, multisensory methods, and adaptive digital trainers. The paper describes the application of a comprehensive IT toolkit, which includes materials aligned with the “Spotlight 2” curriculum as well as original digital resources developed by the authors. The centerpiece of this system is the interactive JavaScript-based learning game “Catch the Verbs” specifically designed to practice verb forms from the Spotlight 2 curriculum.
