Abstract

In the article, the authors reveal the essence and significance of the task approach in teaching biology at school. The materials presented in the publication are relevant in connection with the orientation of school biological education on the formation of functional literacy of schoolchildren. Arguments are given about the need to use modern teaching tools that meet the main requirements of the modernization of Russian education. The authors emphasize the effectiveness of using the task approach not only in the process of teaching biology in the classroom, but also in extracurricular activities, which is reflected in improving the performance of students when participating in research competitions, Olympiads.
