Abstract

In the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra, on the basis of the Surgut State Pedagogical University, a regional competition “The best in PE lessons” was held among 4th grades students. The competition was aimed at identifying theoretical knowledge on physical culture. The questions were selected on the basis of the recommended curriculum for physical education in primary school and the tasks of school Olympiads in physical culture. According to the results of the competition, sections of the program requiring additional attention from physical education teachers were identified. The contestants' difficulties were caused by issues related to the Olympic movement and hardening. In general, the level of theoretical preparedness can be assessed as high.
