The use of contrastive approach in teaching German grammar in a comprehensive school
Abstract
The article is devoted to the current topic of using the contrastive approach in teaching grammar on German lessons in a comprehensive school. Since German and English are closely related, while teaching German as a second foreign language, the teacher can rely on the linguistic experience of pupils, which they received during learning English. This helps to intensify and speed up the learning process. It is most advisable to use contrastive approach at the introduction stage, as it helps to facilitate the assimilation of new material. The article proves the relevance and effectiveness of using this approach at the stage of introducing new grammatical material. This was proved in the course of an experimental test, which was carried out on pupils of the 5th grade.
