Abstract

The article is devoted to the formation of motor skills of mentally retarded primary school children. The theoretical analysis of forms and methods of physical education of mentally retarded children is made. On the study of theoretical data the author has carried out an independent practical analysis of the level of motor skills development of mentally retarded children in an educational institution and on its basis the author has worked out the system with the use of rhythmoplasty on the lessons of medical physical culture for children of this category, which promotes the formation of static and dynamic coordination, improve rhythm of the body, develops the arbitrariness, helps to focus. As a result, the system contributes the development of the children’s motor sphere which has a positive effect on physical and intellectual development, on subsequent social and professional adaptation.
