Modern tendencies in formation of future teacher’s foreign sociocultural competence

Abstract

The article considers some modern tendencies in formation of future teacher’s foreign sociocultural competence. The author pays special attention to the necessity of foreign sociocultural competence formation as a means of a person’s upbringing and socialization that leads to seeing oneself as a representative of a national culture. The author describes some modern methods of sociocultural competence formation. One of the modern tendencies is extensive reading, which includes foreign texts of different genres (srticles, fiction, Internet sources, etc.). The usage of authentic video and audio sources lead to the effectiveness of linguo-cultural material knowledge followed by group discussions of the watched cartoons, films and historical documentaries. The usage of interactive technologies provides the participation of all students, as well as the possibility to share the experience in the problem discussion, the possibility of a personal involvement, the evaluation of the work and the feedback.
