Abstract
The article presents the relevance of the study from the point of view of socio-pedagogical, scientific-theoretical and scientific-methodological aspects. The purpose of the study is a theoretical substantiation and development of the content and structural components of the process of forming the architectural and design competence of students majoring in Architecture in a technical university. The object of the study is the process of professional training of bachelors in the direction of Architecture. The subject of the study is the process of forming the architectural and design competence of students majoring in architecture during the implementation of a system of increasingly complex course projects. Research objectives: based on the analysis of scientific literature, to clarify the concept of "architectural and design competence" and reveal the essence of the process of its formation in the educational environment of a technical university; to identify the main components of architectural and design competence, as well as to determine the levels of its formation among students majoring in architecture in a technical university. Research methods include theoretical ones: analysis and systematization of philosophical, psychological, pedagogical literature on the research topic, synthesis of empirical and theoretical material, conceptual modeling, generalization; empirical methods: observation, conversation, survey, expert assessment method, experimental work, analysis of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education in the direction of "Architecture". The research materials analyze the ratio of engineering and technical and artistic disciplines in the educational process of universities that train architects and the peculiarity of training an architect in a technical university. The result of the study proved the peculiarity of training an architect in a technical university, the specifics of the professional activity of an architect. The definition of architectural and design competence, the process of forming architectural and design competence, the levels of formation of architectural and design competence are given. Monitoring in the training of an architect will allow timely tracking and adjusting the educational process in the implementation of the technology of forming architectural and design competence in the course of completing course projects, the consistent complication of which provides for the formulation and solution of larger-scale research, design and technological and artistic and aesthetic problems.
