Authentic podcasts as a means of forming of compensatory competence among future teachers of english
Abstract
The article examines the problem of using the authentic podcasts aimed at improving of the efficiency of the forming compensatory competence process as far as future teachers of English are concerned. In the introductory part of the article the author substantiates the urgency of the problem, also dwells in detail on the essential structural characteristic of compensatory competence. Then the author specifies two of the English-language sites: BBC Learning English and Listen in English, commenting on the advantages of their use as a source of authentic podcasts. In the conclusion the author gives detailed algorithm of working with authentic podcasts (an example is given). Some special attention is paid to the third stage, during which the process of forming of compensatory competence by means of authentic podcasts among future teachers of English takes place.
