Modern approaches to the formation of the financial literacy basics of senior preschool age children
Abstract
The article gives an essential characteristic of the concept of “financial literacy”, considers the legal documents governing this process as well as practical developments used by preschool institutions to form the necessary ideas in preschool children. Financial literacy is considered as a component of functional literacy and is a continuous expansion of knowledge, skills and action strategies that people build in accordance with the requirements of modern society and continuously improving financial products. The paper presents research materials on the specifics of the ideas of modern senior preschool age children about the financial sector, in particular, about money, its significance and value. The choice of methodological approaches to the formation of the foundations of children’s financial literacy is substantiated taking into account modern trends in preschool education and the dynamics of the development of a preschool child. The author analyzed the domestic and foreign experience in organizing financial education as well as the conditions, problems and prospects for the socio-economic education of preschool children.
